Retno "Raelai" Widyanti is a high-school student and amateur artist based in Melbourne, Australia, one of the most livable cities in the world. Still in the transitional age of physical and mental human development between childhood and adulthood (15 - 21st June, 1994), she is still undergoing a process of self-discovery and learning.

Retno is very much immersed in the arts – the performing arts (including music and drama), the visual arts, and the language arts. Not surprisingly, her favourite school subjects and extracurricular activities include: art, orchestra, wind quintet, choir/a’cappella, French, Japanese, English and musicals. She plays the flute, piccolo, piano, and the voice-box, and when she is not sketching, drawing, painting or spending time on deviantART, she can be found stuffing up piccolo solos in orchestra, complaining about the Alto line in her school a’cappella group, reading her French textbook, or reciting lines from popular musicals.

Visual arts-wise, Retno specialises in the realistic-anime style of digital art. She also does many traditional art pieces (most especially with her graphic sketching pencils), however, she has chosen not to upload most of these for various reasons. Her tools of the trade are: her impaired Fujitsu S Series laptop, her Wacom Graphire 8x6 tablet, and Photoshop Elements 4.0.

    So, with the global financial crisis going on, I don't think it's a very good time to try and find a job, but that's what I'm looking at doing. I really don't like bumming around all holidays so I think I'm going to apply for a job at an art shop or do a little bit of tutoring for primary kids.

    I'm going to start a Paypal account, and it would be good, earning some extra money. My parents think I'm still too young to be going out myself, etc. and I want to prove them wrong. With my own money, I can arrange and spend or save my money in my own way, without depending on their approval. And it might be good to get off my lazy bum.

    I'm also thinking about opening up commisions. If anyone can put a rough value on my art, I'd be really grateful! I'm thinking maybe $35 for a full-body CG?
